About Melia Fuel
Your local and reliable South Shore oil company, Melia Fuel provides home heating oil, premium diesel fuel, and Bioheat® along with heating and air conditioning service to area homes and businesses. Our company was founded in 1982 by Gerry and Ann Melia in Marshfield, MA. Like many startup companies, they ran the business out of their home with Ann running the office and Gerry driving the fuel delivery truck. Their son Patrick helped drive for the company during his winter breaks from college in the mid-80s.
Patrick returned to the company full-time in 1992 and bought the company from his parents in 1993. Within a few years, Patrick transformed the company into a full-service oil provider. In 2003, when he realized he needed more help running the expanding business, he asked his sister Michelle to leave her career in banking and manage the office while the company grew. Patrick moved Melia’s location from his parents' home into our current building on Ocean Street in 2004.
Today, the company has four oil delivery trucks and three service vehicles and a staff of seven. While the company has grown to better serve its customers, the friendly, personal service of a family-owned and operated shop has remained.
